Past and Future
2011
Before this place
serenity could still reach us.
Those nights
revealed all there was to nature.
How it cannot fail to accomplish its simple revolutions.
And so I learned to believe only in beauty,
however little I understood.
Now I see myself
contemplating your ease
which crept in while you were
holding me to the day’s glare.
It is painful to be in a city.
Where often childhood comes falling.
Where we cannot speak much about it.
Not as you keep breathing into the window
overlooking that ageless turmoil,
a sea.
